Emperor Terry I has been deposed, with Prince James I becoming the new Emperor of the Commonwealth of Essexia

Greater Baddow – Emperor Terry has been deposed from office in a sweeping military takeover of the Commonwealth of Essexia. It’s the end of his almost 4-year reign as monarch of the Essexian state.

Following his refusal to grant assent to the Military Empowerment Act 2021, the military declared martial law to break the deadlock.

In the ensuing showdown in Parliament, Lord Commissar Jacob M suspended 5 opposition MPs. Emperor Terry tried to prevent the move, but he was shouted down by military voices within the House chamber.

The military junta proceeded to launch a no-confidence motion in the Emperor, with the 3 remaining MPs unanimously resolving to remove him.

His replacement is Prince James, now Emperor James I. Terry accepted that he had lost the support of the nation and thus his power, and agreed to transfer his office without further struggle.

Emperor James I became the new Emperor of our nation at 23:01. Long may he reign.

This is a breaking news story. A more detailed article and version of events will come in the following days.
